Over at go-galt.org, C. Jeffery Small is making a push this April to mail letters and copies of Atlas Shrugged to our elected representatives and unelected power-wielders. For those of you itching to make a pro-liberty statement around tax time, he provides a wealth of information and suggestions on how to hone your message. I know many of those who stumble across this blog have been in search of a way to express their frustrations with the anti-freedom mindset of our political class; his project might be right up your alley, so check it out!

Spending your own hard earned money as a Means to propagate a truth can be a noble Cause if its Effects are toward the intended noble Ends. I’m pretty sure I don’t have to tell you where a lot of those hand-out books end up. The spread of Egoïst Ideology is a qualitative concept. Unsolicited, out-of-pocket give-aways is a quantitative – and expensive – one.
Even with the April 15 mass Tea-Party (closing up shop for a day as a form of protest); well, its not hard to calculate that its the businessman that loses in that case as well.
The cultural mainstream has the honest Capitalist handcuffed in pretty much every direction – except one and even that was predicted by Miss Rand. That of “withdrawl of your moral sanction” – “withdraw your support”. Of course, before the Ayn Rand Motor came into existence this was a symbolic (and completely futile) gesture, as well.
That’s what has now changed, The motor now exists and Atlantis has a focus. Ayn Rand’s philosophy at the center, a motor that emulates the self-sufficient Ego and the inventor, all real and working for Reason.
Folks! its a whole new ballgame!…no, even more than that! – In fact, it’s the first civilization.
An actual Galt’s Gulch takes place every year, in June. (yes, just like in the novel). We’ve added a free Youtube version this year – click the accompanying link and send a private-message. Better still you can come and “Judge For Yourself”.
To inform yourself as to all of the details send an e-mail to:

It all happens in June, and not a minute too soon.
(if fact, I hope its not too late)
And I mean it.

Might be more effective to mail them something smaller and easier to read and without such cultish baggage. I recommend Milton & Rose Friedman’s “Free to Choose.”
I was thinking maybe even more modest beginnings like Bastiat’s out-of-copyright ‘What is Free Trade?’
It might has well have been written yesterday, it’s a written refuation of the standard Lou Dobbs crap flying around all the time. Sean Hannity and Rush could be served reading it too. ManyBooks.net has it in ever ebook format under the Sun.
friedman probably has just as much cultish baggage as ayn rand… i would rather reccomend tom woods or something from the austrian school.
or maybe chicago just rubs me the wrong way?
