This is an acronym for the punchline “What you mean ‘we’, Paleface?”. Search around for various versions of the joke, which involve the Lone Ranger and Tonto being surrounded by Indians, and the Lone Ranger saying something like “Looks like we’re in trouble, Tonto!”.
I prefer WYMWP because it’s easiest to pronounce (“whim-whip”). Like TANSTAAFL and NIMBY, these fine acronyms can address a wide range of fallacious arguments with deft economy. Use WYMWP when someone’s use of “we” is designed to obscure more than it illuminates.
